Playgroup meets at the park

Today our playgroup met at Shinjuku Gyoen. The kids had fun running around and enjoying a picnic lunch.

Hike - Nenogongen Temple Complex

We took our first big hike since last spring today to the Nenogongen Temple Complex. In addition to a temple, there was a huge bell that visitors are permitted to ring. This was Louis' favorite part - he was so excited about it! He did really well on the hike and made it up the hardest part by himself. Derek carried him for the hike back down - during which he fell asleep, a very well deserved nap!

Run for the Cure!

Today we participated in a 10k Run for the Cure (supports breast cancer awareness/education efforts) in Tokyo. The route took us around the Imperial Palace grounds. Derek and I were happy to come in under an hour - training has been tricky with baby and toddler! We also walked a couple miles to the start (no convenient way to take the subway) and jogged home afterwards.

Halloween gifts & inside fun

Today a package with gifts & Halloween stuff arrived from nana and grandpa. I think Louis' favorite item was the bubble wrap!

After seeing a skateboard/stunt bike show during our trip to Matsumoto, Louis really wanted daddy to make him a skate board. A little cardboard, tape and mom's workout step and Louis was ready to go.

Louis playing in his stroller...as you can tell, I keep it pretty loaded down - water bottle, purse, diaper bag, and of course, the umbrella (it rains a lot here).
