Toy Kingdom

Derek joined us for an outing to Toy Kingdom with our playgroup. Toy Kingdom is within the Tokyo Dome (baseball) complex and contains a ton of toys of all kinds for kids to play with. Louis had a blast!

Swing Time

Like his big brother did, Jamey loves the swing for snoozing.

A few more pics

This morning, Kelli and Jamey passed their exams and we were able to check out and head home from the hospital. Here are a few pictures of our first day together as a 4-person family.

Louis meets his baby brother. Louis is a fantastic big brother and very good at helping mom and dad with baby Jamey.

When we got back to the apartment, Louis was able to hold Jamey for the first time. Without me saying anything, he put his hand behind Jamey's head to hold it up. He's a natural.

In the evening, Jamey took a nap. He's probably resting up so he can party like a rock star later tonight...

James Fischer Brandon

This morning at 2:37 AM, Kelli and I were finally able to meet Jamey, the newest SuperBradon.

Mom, Dad, and baby are doing well - although a little more sleep wouldn't hurt!

More pics to come soon!

Gundam

For the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam, they built a full-size replica in Tokyo. At least, they say it is only a replica. I'd believe "working prototype"...

When we got off the train, it was fairly easy to answer the question, "I wonder where we can find the robot?". Robots don't play hide-n-seek very well.

I, for one, welcome our 60 ft. tall robot overlords.

The detail is really well done. There are appropriate labels on vents and panels and the metal is real. This is no cheap-plastic model. If we put a couple of these into Afghanistan and pretended to be switching them on, we'd see white flags waiving from caves.

I can't wait to share sci-fi with Louis and Magnum. Louis and I talked about Gundams today and I loved watching the gears in his head turn... He is young, but already on his way :)

There were lots of folks around taking pictures. It's probably waiting for the one moment no one is looking to turn on the rockets, leap over the bay to central Tokyo, and start launching missles.

It should be up for another month or so. I'll try to get out there again at night for some pictures of it when it's lit up after dark.
