Boso Village
We visited Boso Village in Chiba with friends (Coco, Tony & Pearly) about 2 hours away by subway and train. It was a really hot day so we spent a good amount of time in the shade of a renovated farm house. The kids had fun playing with traditional toys from the Edo time period and poking around the farm house.

Playground & Bathtime Afterglow
Playground visit with friend Coco & her daughter Pearly. The little white patches that Louis has on are to repel mosquitos. I've got no clue what is in them (I'd probably rather not know) but they work pretty well and are easy to stick on & pull off.

Tokyo Midtown Fountain
After playing with trains, we visited Tokyo Midtown (shopping/living complex near our home) and Louis played in the fountain.

Later, Derek took a turn carrying Jamey in the sling when we went to dinner. The grandparents said it was probably their favorite meal out...what did we go for you ask? Why, what does anyone come to Tokyo for? Mexican! (But seriously, we really did eat Mexican food...and it was decent.)

Nana and grandpa left the next morning for home. We had a nice visit!

Sensoji Temple, Waterbus & Odaiba Beach
Another HOT day...we went to Asakusa to visit the famous marketplace and Sensoji Temple. The temple was under renovation but we got a couple good shots around it.

After visiting the temple, we hopped on board the waterbus to Odaiba, where the beach is. (Grandpa is intrigued by his paper fan - a must have in the muggy heat).

Mt. Fuji & Hakone
We took a tour that included stops at Mt. Fuji and in the Hakone area.
After lunch, we took a boat across Lake Ashi in Hakone. Louis needed a wardrobe change and they only had adult sizes in t-shirts, but he didn't seem to mind.

Next a cable car ride up the mountain overlooking Lake Ashi.

A shrine at the top
I think Louis' favorite part of the trip was the shinkansen (bullet train) ride home!
