Swing Time

Like his big brother did, Jamey loves the swing for snoozing.

A few more pics

This morning, Kelli and Jamey passed their exams and we were able to check out and head home from the hospital. Here are a few pictures of our first day together as a 4-person family.

Louis meets his baby brother. Louis is a fantastic big brother and very good at helping mom and dad with baby Jamey.

When we got back to the apartment, Louis was able to hold Jamey for the first time. Without me saying anything, he put his hand behind Jamey's head to hold it up. He's a natural.

In the evening, Jamey took a nap. He's probably resting up so he can party like a rock star later tonight...

James Fischer Brandon

This morning at 2:37 AM, Kelli and I were finally able to meet Jamey, the newest SuperBradon.

Mom, Dad, and baby are doing well - although a little more sleep wouldn't hurt!

More pics to come soon!

Gundam

For the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam, they built a full-size replica in Tokyo. At least, they say it is only a replica. I'd believe "working prototype"...

When we got off the train, it was fairly easy to answer the question, "I wonder where we can find the robot?". Robots don't play hide-n-seek very well.

I, for one, welcome our 60 ft. tall robot overlords.

The detail is really well done. There are appropriate labels on vents and panels and the metal is real. This is no cheap-plastic model. If we put a couple of these into Afghanistan and pretended to be switching them on, we'd see white flags waiving from caves.

I can't wait to share sci-fi with Louis and Magnum. Louis and I talked about Gundams today and I loved watching the gears in his head turn... He is young, but already on his way :)

There were lots of folks around taking pictures. It's probably waiting for the one moment no one is looking to turn on the rockets, leap over the bay to central Tokyo, and start launching missles.

It should be up for another month or so. I'll try to get out there again at night for some pictures of it when it's lit up after dark.

Louis gets a haircut

We finally took Louis in for a haircut - I was sad to see the big curls go but he looks quite handsome and grown up with his new cut. He did very well at the barber shop!

Kelli and Derek's Last Date Before...

Kelli and I had the sitter keep Louis for a few hours tonight so that we could go out for a last dinner date before Magnum arrives. You know a picture of parents was taken on a night without kids, because they can get away with wearing white to have dinner.

Kelli is holding a note card that reads "39 weeks". After the first 100 shots that didn't turn out, we missed the card on this one.

Kyu Shiba-rikyu Gardens #2

I think these are my favorite gardens - nearby (30 min walk), playground in front, and of course - beautiful! Louis loves running around the gardens and enjoys the playground too.
We have been seeing these lovely flowers everywhere lately.

Back to the beach!

Met up with friends at the beach!

Visited the Statue of Liberty while we were there.
Louis carried 'Mr. Hedgehog' with him (one of my childhood toys).

Louis and Daddy

Here are a few pictures of Louis and I from the last few days.

Louis wanted us to take a picture of ourselves. The curls are getting out of control. We'll have to get him a haircut soon, he's starting to need to brush them out of his eyes when he's out.

Waiting for coffee to brew, I stretched out on the floor. Louis brought over his friends; Bear, Babo, and Mr. Hedgehog and put them next to me. Then he laid down too.

Fountain Fun (Tokyo Midtown Park)

The warmer weather is great for afternoons in the fountain!
